Chris Berry

Chris Berry joined The Keith Corporation (TKC) in 2005. His main focus is on build-to-suit development and land acquisition.

Some of his recent projects in North & South Carolina include:

  • The Pinnacle at SouthPark - +/- 123,000 SF six-story Class A office building on the square in SouthPark.
  • Sterling Oaks Business Park - development and marketing of a +/- 350,000 SF build-to-suit office park along Highway 160 in Lancaster County.
  • 5935 Carnegie Blvd - lease of office space in a +/- 45,000 SF Class A office building in SouthPark.
  • Ballancroft - a bank branch site for sale and 68,000 SF office space for lease at the intersection of Highway 521 & Providence Rd West in Charlotte
  • Longview South - +/- 20 acres of office and retail sites for sale or build-to-suit in Union County.
  • Land and building acquisitions for various clients.

Mr. Berry’s career in commercial real estate began with CB Richard Ellis in their Corporate Services division in Charlotte in 1998.  He then joined Percival’s Inc. in 2002.  In both capacities he provided lease and tenant representation services.

He is a licensed broker in North & South Carolina and has been an active member in the commercial real estate community as well as a participant on several boards including the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors where he also served as an instructor and as Technology Committee Chairman; the NCAR Information Technology committee; a Director on the Realtors Commercial Alliance Board of Governors; and the National Association of Realtors.  In 2004 he received the CRCBR President’s Award for outstanding service and contribution to the association. 

Mr. Berry is also involved at Providence Day School as a long-term member of the Board of Advisors.  At Carmel Country Club, he is a member of the Ambassador’s Committee.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Wake Forest University.

Christy BlakelyChristy Blakely

Christy Blakely joined the Retail Division of The Keith Corporation (TKC) in June 2007.  Her primary focus is on build-to-suit retail development. 

Prior to joining TKC, Ms. Blakely worked as a Business Development Manager with hotel-developer Winegarden and Hammons.  She then worked with Paul Hemmer Companies as a Development Project Manager, specializing in national retail development. 

Ms. Blakely studied undergraduate and graduate-level English literature at both the University of Toledo and the University of Cincinnati. 

Ms. Blakely is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), an active associate of Commerical Real Estate Women (CREW), and an active volunteer with the Junior League.

R. Byron Brown, IV

Byron Brown specializes in retail development and tenant representation. Mr. Brown offers his clients a wealth of experience in both large and small markets throughout the Southeast. Prior to joining TKC, he was a broker with The Chambers Group.

Mr. Brown is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from the Calloway School at Wake Forest University. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Wake Forest's Charlotte Alumni Association, Charlotte Regional Sports, The Mint Museum of Art, and is past President of Latta Pavilion Condo Owners Association.

Mr. Brown's client experience includes Dollar Tree Stores, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Academy Sports, BB&T, Tractor Supply Company, Sunbelt Rentals, Yankee Candle Company, Hollywood Video, The Roasting Company, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, Lifeway Christian Stores, and The Men's Wearhouse.

David A. Hanby

Dave Hanby is a Development Partner at The Keith Corporation (TKC) with over 18 years of  commercial real estate brokerage and development experience. Mr. Hanby specializes in retail net lease build-to-suit development  including site identification , financial feasibility analysis, land acquisition and lease negotiations. Since joining TKC in 1994, he has participated in and completed over $160 million in development projects. 

Mr. Hanby is a graduate of Wake Forest University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  He is a licensed broker in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia and he is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

His civic involvement includes serving on the board of the University City YMCA where he was Board Chair. Currently he is an active board member of the Lake Norman YMCA.

Mr. Hanby has completed development projects in North & South Carolina, Delaware, Florid, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

His client list includes Tractor Supply Company, Garden Ridge, Sunbelt Rentals, Office Max, Starbucks, Verizon, Rack Room Shoes, Hollywood Video and The Mattress Firm.

R. Alan Lewis

Alan Lewis is a Development Partner at The Keith Corporation (TKC) with over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate. Since joining The Keith Corporation in 1991, Alan has successfully completed  a variety of transactions including the following:

  • Build-to-Suit & Speculative Development of over 4,300,000 sq. ft. of Distribution and Manufacturing Facilities.
  • Development and Marketing of  Lincoln County Industrial Park, Lincolnton, NC; Sherrill Industrial Park, Statesville, NC; Township Industrial Park, Charlotte, NC; Summit Corporate Center, Rowan County, NC; and Newton Corporate Center, Newton, NC.
  • Land Assemblage and Leasing of the Second Tallest Building in Charlotte, the 47-story Hearst Tower in Uptown Charlotte.
  • Acquisition and Leasing of CityFair in Uptown Charlotte.

Mr. Lewis graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S. in Business Administration. Professionally, he served as President of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors (“CRCBR”) in 2002 and as a member of the Board of Directors of that organization for seven years in various capacities. He is a member of the North Carolina Economic Developers Association and is a licensed broker in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Civically, Alan currently serves as a member of the Board of Mangers for the Harris Family Branch YMCA.



Dave Osterhus

Dave Osterhus joined The Keith Corporation in 2005.  He specializes in retail brokerage, site identification and acquisition, lease negotiations, and build-to-suit development.

Mr. Osterhus has over 26 years of combined retail and retail real estate experience.  He is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.  His clients include Family Christian Stores, Foot Locker, Hobby Lobby, Shoe Show, and Cheddar’s Restaurants. Before joining The Keith Corporation, Mr. Osterhus was Vice President of Acquisitions for Collins Goodman Development Company in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was responsible for identifying and acquiring retail sites for development in numerous East Coast and Midwest markets.  He also was previously a Real Estate Manager for Rack Room Shoes in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he completed multiple lease transactions across the United States in regional malls, power strips, outlet centers, and freestanding locations.

Mr. Osterhus is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), where he has served as a speaker and planning committee member.  He is also the NC State Government Relations Chair for the ICSC and  travels to Washington, D.C. to lobby elected officials on behalf of the association.  He has also served as an officer with Toastmasters International in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Patrick Plettner

Patrick Plettner joined The Keith Corporation (TKC) in 2002.  He specializes in retail development, land acquisition, and represents both buyers and sellers in investment sales.

Mr. Plettner has over ten years of real estate experience.  His extensive client history includes BB&T, Hollywood Video, Musicland, Primrose Schools, Tractor Supply Company, Walgreens, and West Marine. He has completed over $100 Million in development projects in the following states:

*   North Carolina
*   South Carolina
*   Georgia
*   Florida
*   Maryland
 *  Massachusetts
*   New Jersey
*   New York
*   Texas
*   Wisconsin

Mr. Plettner is a licensed broker in North and South Carolina.  He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration concentrating in finance. Mr. Plettner is a  member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a graduate of The Charlotte Leadership Forum. 


C. Norman Walters, II

Norman Walters is a Development Partner with The Keith Corporation (TKC) specializing in land, office and industrial build-to-suit development as well as the marketing and development of business parks.  He has been with TKC since 1990 and has over 23 years of real estate marketing experience.      

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Newberry College and is a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. 

Mr. Walters is a member of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors and is on the Board of Advisors of the Charlotte Chamber.  He has served on the North Carolina Department of Commerce Task Force of the Charlotte Chamber and is a member of the North Carolina Economic Developer’s Association. He currently serves as a Director of the Metropolitan Board of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and is an Elder at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
